Master's Lodge - Napier - The Master’s Lodge is a
small luxury lodge positioned in the 'Dress Circle' of Bluff Hill in
the City of Napier with spectacular views over the blue Pacific Ocean.
This historically distinctive residence was the home of tobacco Baron
Gerhard Husheer, Director of the National Tobacco Company. The residence
was designed by famed architect Louis Hay in the early 1930s when he
also designed Napier’s most famous Art Deco building – the
National Tobacco Company Building – and features original Art
Deco and Art Nouveau furnishings, servant bell system and extensive
leadlighting (stained glass) throughout.

and peaceful self contained apartment with one generous king sized bed
and double, both with ensuites. The interior features: original paintings,
as well as generous open spaces for dining and entertaining with large
bifolding doors opening out on to a sunny deck. There is also a shaded
stone area where one can enjoy H.B's many award winning wines. Wharetoa
has been luxuriously decorated and furnished in keeping with the the
expectations of discerning travellers. Wharetoa is equipped with a full
kitchen including stainless steel oven, dishwasher, refrigerator, gas
